Can you not destroy radioactivity or do you have to wait for it to die.

You have to wait for it to die off
although there is a controversial theory that it can be neutralised...
but that's controversial and no one believes it.

We should have our alternative to Nobel Prizes, only for truely outstanding achievements though.

Sounds like a Nobel Prize. It would be a nobel prize almost certainly if it was possible it isn't possible, but someone claims to have done it... who knows?

It seems a good idea but how would we do it?

If we were to have a series of awards for outstanding achievements, they certainly wouldn't be handed out regularily. We'd be looking at only the most outstanding achievements to warrant an award. I suppose we could establish some annual awards, separate to this, where awards are given out to recognise effort over the past 12 months. For example we could have;
-Greatest Contribution (Eg, in terms of consistant and constructive posting over the year) -Most Inspirational Post -Singular Contribution (Eg, for a citizen that has established something that benefits Jamzinia, Brandon's newsletter for example.) -Citizen Of The Year (For the citizen that has put in the most effort in being a true part of Jamzinia.) Etc,

Too much happens in a year to give an award, methinks. Perhaps every four or six months.

It doesn't have the same ring to it though, citizen of 6 months. I do see what you mean though. In Jamzinia a year is a long time. We have our own calender system, why not use it to our advantage to combat this issue. We could have our calender system so that 6 months in real time is equivilent to 1 Jamzinian year.

Then we would have the complication of having holidays once every two 'years', founders day for instance, plus it tends to complicate things when you begin changing the basic formation of a calender too much.

I'd say it does too, gives citizens something to aspire to all year round. Maybe appropriately placed on founders day too. The day where citizens pay particular attention to 'being proud'.
