Wikipedia is correct ninety-nine percent of the time, and when it isn't there is a message giving you heed.
It also contains more information in one place than any other source.

there's not always a message saying so, it can take weeks for errors to be picked up...

Unless you're looking at something very vague, like Omism, (In which I found spelling errors and poor organization,) then any error will be obvious.
You don't hear about the horrible person who crusades around the internet changing the birthday of an obscure figure by two weeks and three days.

The sites for omism were made years ago, and i'm sure i could find sites on christianity with more errors. You don't hear about the horrible person who crusades around the internet changing the birthday of an obscure figure by two weeks and three days. What about the person who changes the birthday of a not-so-obscure figure who you have a school project due in on by nearly 100 years? and changing all the data about them I've certainly heard of that

You don't hear about the horrible person who crusades around the internet changing the birthday of an obscure figure by two weeks and three days. What about the person who changes the birthday of a not-so-obscure figure who you have a school project due in on by nearly 100 years? and changing all the data about them I've certainly heard of that I haven't. Something like that gets fixed by a rollback within hours, at the latest, of being discovered.
Also, if you wait until the last moment and purposefully use only a single source, you deserve whatever happens to you.

If you didn't flag it, then that's your own fault.

you never said "it would be fixed within hours if you flagged it" you never said anything about flagging it

I said 'discovered' on the assumption that anyone with synapses firing between their ears would flag it. If you act like there isn't a problem, the problem won't be fixed.
EDIT: And what do you mean add more? You always start these yourself.

It's more likely to be true than anything else on the internet, short of a digital version the Encyclopedia Britannica, or the like.
