I personally believe we should, but not the Halloween as we know it. I don't like the idea of "trick or treating", it gets bloody annoying having people knocking on your door all night long demanding money or sweets, and having the cheek to present the threat of a "trick" should you choose not to give them anything. Fair enough if little kids want to dress up in scary costumes, they can have private partys for it, the fact is it's gone too far. You get a bunch of teenagers comming round, in no costume what so ever, equiped with eggs and flour. I want to watch Most Haunted Live in peace tonight, but no doubt I'll be disturbed several times by a bunch of prats demanding sweets.

I think though that to celebrate we should celebrate both All hallow's Eve and Beltane. Both events have similar historical beliefs but on Halloween really still exists. I think maybe this time of year should be known as 'The Holiday season' From Founders day until christmas has finished.

That seems reasonable Keith, what are your opinions on the seriousness of Halloween? Should we adopt a traditional stance in delving into the supposed belief that spirits are able to return to Earth on that night - possibly 'celebrated' with paranormal investigations, or the modern and more comercialised dressing up stance?

With one of my old nations instead of Halloween we had 'Day of the dead' Where I and citizens celebraed the lives of people that had died.

I dislike Halloween and its ideas as a whole really. Without a doubt Chrismas should be our main celebration

Halloween is much more celebrated and less abused in America, so I am an obvious advocate.

I must say I for one would highly favour a more American Halloween rather than a British themed one. From what I've seen and heard the American ones are in general more for the tradition of halloween itself rather than here in Britain where it seems likely most chavs enjoy taking to the streets to harrass the elderly, terrorise little kids out trick or treating, and egg random houses.
