I watched a movie from the 1930s the other night about Bloody Mary. The acting seemed much better to compensate for the lack of digital effects we rely on today.

Sometimes that's often the case in the older films/tv progs. I think when the film/prog has a good plot with good actors, you can easily forget that it's old, and in most cases in black and white.
