The Founding Of Jamzinia & Activity Comparisons

This sylabus is one of five in this course, it is the longest of the five, covering the first days of Jamzinia and the comparison of activity between then and now.

The history of Jamzinia begins on 12 August 2005. Formed by it's current monarch, James Williams, it has developed a great deal since it first began. The concept of micronationalism was introduced to James through watching "How to start your own country", in the summer of 2005. Shortly after signing up as a citizen of Lovely in August of 2005, James became increasingly irritated with Lovely, despite the excitment and interest the TV show illustrated, the heart of lovely, it's forum, was dull, and was nothing more than a general discussion board. Few posts were linked to micronationalism, and the exciting concept of starting a country. It was at this point that James decided to build his own country, the country we each belong to today, Jamzinia. The current freewebs website we have today was first created on the night of 12 August 2005.
Jamzinia began rather light-heartedly, this resulted in roles being given out rather hastily. The first role, the 'People's Ambassador', was handed out to Roger, a male in his late 20s. After a short period of interest, he eventually left. The nation's first Prime minister was also appointed in those first few days, Nicola Brown, she also left after only a few days in the position.
During the early part of Jamzinia the primary form of communication between citizens was email. Jamzinia did not acquire a message board until October 2005. This meant that all communication taking place was on a one to one basis with James. As far as James is aware prior to the message boards being created, none of the citizens were in contact with each other. Citizens relied on news comming directly from James, or through checking the site (incidentally also the current site).
On the 19th August 2005, James was approached by Chris Daniels, (Oscar formerly of Oscland) with a view to buying Jamzinia. James replied with a firm declaration stating Jamzinia was not for sale. Naturally the offer increased James' confidence in the development of Jamzinia. Eight days later, on the 27 August, Jamzinia's first constitution was written by James and was released. As Jamzinia began with a very scessionist attitude, including an aim to settle on an island, the constitution was very much intended to be a set of laws to be used in the future, when the aim of settling on land was achieved.
It was Friday 7th October at 8.20am, when Jamzinia's forums, the current ones we use today, we opened. The opening message read,
“Hello everyone that visits these boards, thanks for taking the time to do so, please remember that these boards are relatively new, therefore not many citizens of Jamzinia are aware of them yet.
Thanks, and remember to post a message, anything.. That you would like to bring up… or create a thread.
King James I of Jamzinia”

The opening of the forum allowed Jamzinia to expand further. For the first time in it's history, citizens could converse with one another, allowing new ideas and aims to be shared. The number of posts on the forum was significantly lower than the activity rates we see today. Exactly 280 days after the opening of the forum, on 16th August 2006, Spangle announced,
"ok, since the forum started we have had roughly 6 posts a day
at the monment, not including this post we have had 6.466237942 posts per day"
at the monment, not including this post we have had 6.466237942 posts per day"
Therefore, providing Spangle was accurate in calculating the start date of our forum, it would mean that on 16 August 2006 the forum had an estimated 1811 posts in total. On 24 October 2007, we had 8808 posts, an average of 11.7 posts per day. Currently we have 12,447 posts, over a period of 857 days, it averages 14.5 posts per day. Yet this month so far we have seen just over 650 posts, in a mere 9 days.
Any questions are welcome.
