Recently the Republic of Leothuania was contacted by the government of the Eastern European nation of Lithuania. Apparently they consider the name 'Leothuania' a 'blatent play on Lithuania', and have demanded to a name-change. Therefore from now on, Leothuania will be known as Oelania. Despite the name-change, Oelania is still happy to be a part of the MFF, and is looking forward to competing with the other nations in the upcoming Micronational World Cup. Safe.post

Did Lithuania really contact you?
Say it's a recognition of statehood!

True by interacting with Leothuania lithuania are regonising you maybe not as a nation but as an organisation of some kind. Very nice of you to change your name though to Oelania.

How do you pronounce Oelania?

Yep. I've written many many letters to many many countries and international organisations. Because Oelania is elevated from the ground, it doesn't technically come under being part of British land- because it isn't land, its wood and other materials. So I get a lot of different reactions from lots of different countries. For example, Peru have told me that their President would be willing to fully recognise Oelania as long as I presented him with my agenda. The first country to do so yet. However, the Lithuanian President is clearly a nob, as he has told me to change my country's name or else. I don't mind though, Oelania has more originality to it. Oelania is pronounced O-laynia. Thanks for the response peeps. And by the way, perhaps its worth sending a few letters yourselves to see what kind of responses you get with your own Micronations?

I sent 3 letters (technically a letter, an email and a fax) for New-Empire... A letter to the UN A fax to Tony Blair (the then prime minister of the UK) An Email to NASA The last one is obvious with New-Empire's themes... I got no replies! I even included a stamped addressed envelope in the letter to the UN

When I was King of the Ex Nation, Kahbah of the Old CIS, I sent letters to Tony Blair and the Queen. I recieved a letter with 10 Downing Street marked on the envelope. The family huddled round excited, I opened with enthusiasm, and I'll never forget the one line answer.
Dear Kieran,
I would just like to confirm the arrival of your recent letter.
Yours,
I couldn't believe they'd even bothered.
