how could you have shorter seconds and longer minutes?

Well you'd have to adjust it so that the shorter seconds accomodated for the longer minutes, making sure there was still the same ammount of time, in total, in the day.

shorter seconds and longer minutes are accieved by having more seconds in a minute than 60

calling them hours, minutes, seconds is probably confusing you as they are different lengths of time say for the french system we'll call the hours "Hunit", minutes "Munit" and Seconds "Sunit". there are 10 Hunits in a day, 100 Munits in a Hunit, 100 Sunits in a Munit. this makes a Hunit equal to 2.4 Hours, a Munit is equal to 1.44 minutes and a Sunit is equal to 0.864 Seconds If you still don't understand I'll make an AJAX clock

I always thought decimal time would be difficult to adjust to.
The 'seconds' aspect of it, that is.
Upon seeing your clock, though, it seems a lot more practical.
