What's this about"?
The Jamzinian Naming Programme (family tree idea) exists primarily to allow all citizens to be part of a family within Jamzinia. Obviously these families have no macronational (real life) significance, as it doesn't affect real life families. As the idea is relatively new, citizens are able to form new families, which is essentially what happened thousands of years ago in real life. People were given a surname in order to 'track' families. Their surnames were often either characteristics such as, "Short, or "Brown", or occupations, such as "Smith", "Archer" or "Baker". In Jamzinia you may choose which ever surname you wish, although it is recomended that is in someway relevant to you, and not completely random.
How does it work?
In order to have a Jamzinian name, you must have Jamzinian citizenship. Once this is in order, you have one of two options to take, either; form a new family (including a new surname), or to join an existing family. In order to join an existing family the head of the family must obviously agree to it. The head of the family is the person who formed the family.
What is the point?
The point of the idea is to establish a basis for future Jamzinians to be part of. It allows our predecessors to be able to look back and see their 'family' roots. It also adds something that all comunities have - families. Also it ensures we have an identity and that we will not be forgotten in years to come. The idea also allows us to have Jamzinian marriages which shall not be legally binding in real life but shall merely be included in the family trees. Family trees will be kept, along with family documentations such as births (real life - should a family member have a child and wish for them to be a citizen, they are entitled to automatic entry into the family which their parent is in. ), Jamzinian marriages, divorces, deaths, emmigration and immigration.
Ok, so where do I start?
Well, firstly Jamzinian citizenship must be obtained prior to you joining or forming a family. After that you must go to the Family Registry Office to either register the formation of your family or apply to join an existing one.
How do I get married?
The information will be in the Christian Church Of Jamzinia, and the guidelines shall be layed out in the "Marriages Act",
What If I Don't Join A Family & Choose A Name?
If you do not join a family for what ever reason, you will be designated a new one along with a name. The designation will be made in the Family Records Office.
This is a bit complicated
Yes, it is, but aren't most things in life that are worth while? Also I'm not expecting you all to grasp the idea straight away, it's a complex idea that I hope will be understood further as time goes on, as we all learn from experience. If you have any questions please post them bellow, I'll then add the important ones to this post along with an answer to ensure all can use them for the same quieries. (I'll answer all the questions even if I don't choose them to be edited into this post).
