We will happily join your organisation, however this will have to wait until our nation has formed, thus allowing the creation of an national FA and the formation of our team as a Members Club. Currently, our nation has the working title of 'New Home.' Not exactly awe inspiring stuff, but we have genuine hopes of attaining sovereignty (not much into recwars *grins*) and so the name and symbols of our country shall eventually be chosen to represent it's culture and people, rather than the other way round. Hopefully we'll have something a little more interesting come the tournament

Great stuff! Well I look forward to seeing what you manage to put together - hopefully in the not so distant future. Until then, I wish you all the best in the creation of your new nation.

Ok, to recap-
The 2008 Micronational World Cup will;
-Be in either July or August of 2008 -Be held in Yorkshire -Be a 5-aside tournament -Charge nations competing a small fee
The requirements for entry into the MFF will be;
-To have at least 5 shirts of the same colour along with at least 5 bibs/different coloured shirts in the case of a need to change 'kit'. -To have the national anthem on CD
How much do you think we should set the competing fee at?

I think the fee should depend on how many players to take for your squad. It could be a set fee for teams with just a starting V, then an additional amount for any subs...

I think that's fair enough. How much do you think we should be looking to set the base fee as?

May aswell continue the discussion as it's still relevant -
Base fee for five players - £35? = A fiver a person + £10 registration fee.
Plus £3 per additional player?
Say if we got 8 teams, we would have £280. We will need the venue for near enough a whole day, and also need money to buy trophies and medals. We would probably be looking to spend £15 - £20 on the main trophy, plus medals for each of the competing players in the winning team and the runners up - £2 a medal = £20, then a £10 trophy for top scorer, and £10 for player of the tournament.
Rough estimate of £60 for trophys and medals.
As for the layout of the tournament, we'll have to wait and see how many teams are going to enter, say if we get 8 we'd probably look to divide them into two groups of four, each team playing everyone in their group twice, so six games, then the top 2 out of each group go through to the semis, at least that would mean everyone would get at least 6 games, and half of the teams would get at least 7. Whilst the two finalists would get 8. If we had some time left over, we could play some Official MFF 'friendlys', would be cool to have some results down on paper for the rankings!
I own a digital video camera, so I'll bring that so we can film some of the games.
I think we're getting to the stage now where we need to know who is competing for sure so we can find a suitable venue and get it booked. We ought to begin looking at setting a deadline for entries, and maybe make teams send in a £15 deposit on their entry fees so that we dont end up with no one turning up and me having to fork out several hundred quid for the venue. I suppose we could have say 3 or 4 extra slots for late entering teams once the deadline has passed, but these teams would have to pay an extra fee, it should make sure teams who want to enter do it asap, which is better for us as it gives us more time to make sure everything is in order!
We're now into the year of the MFF World Cup! Let's make sure it's a good 'un!

I think that those prices are good maybe we should have a regitration fee for joining the MFF too.

Although it could bring in some much needed funding for the MFF, I think it may damage us in the long run in that it may put people off joining us, which would mean less participants in the world cup.
